about

Sven's second song on the record and one I kind of smashed together out of the abandoned pieces of 3 or 4 other songs using his awesome riff to stitch it all together. I really wanted to make one of those songs you can hang a live show on and then this prime piece of rock n'roll nonsense came to me, a line that sounds like it's from a terrible Western. It's an absolutely meaningless piece of what Yves calls "Jibber jabber" and it's perfect.

lyrics

Standing in the middle of a labyrinth, you hunt a way out that don't exist
When I realised we're just monkeys in pants, hooting at the abyss
I know they'll try to tell you everything you need's within
But, baby, I tried to drown my demons and they just learned to swim

Did you ever have a vision of your own doom in the dead of the night?
You're late your appointment in Sammarah, ain't never gonna see the light?
You ask yourself "Why would heaven take me, of all the human race?"
That's cos everybody up there's tired of singing Amazing Grace

You'll never take us alive and I don't plan to wind up dead.
