about

The first song we ever wrote together. The lyrics are kind of my tribute to the music of Minneapolis. The first verse is my Hold Steady tribute and the second The Replacements. I'd like to apologise to Craig Finn and Paul Westerberg for copping their lines in tribute, on a record they're never going to hear, through the medium of liner notes they're never going to read.

lyrics

They say God's a working man, but he knows that ain't for me
I've raised more hell than you.
Mix tapes and mistakes, oh lord!
To be seventeen forever.

Yeah, I'd stoop to that if you asked me.

She said "You look kinda like Westerberg". I said "Your vision's kinda blurred"
I'm cutting you off.
And I know you're pleased to meet me, but who invited you
To my swinging party?
